' , v - x- - x-V judges select winners from entries in Utah Pageant of the Arts Youth Art Show. Judges were Gina Peterson, Allen Reinhold, JoAnne Nerdin Corpany and Carol P. Harding. Celebrities perform Manookin Sacramento Symphony for 12 seasons. Mack Wilberg is an Assistant Professor of Music at BYU where he conducts the BYU Concert Choir and Men's Chorus. He is also an active accompanist-coach and composer. Lois Johnson and Kerry Arbon work with the Utah Valley Choral i Society to provide professionally prepared choral music to the community. The community will have a rare treat, to hear music and performers of such high calibre. This concert is presented by the Alpine Community Arts Council in conjunction with the Utah Arts Council and the National Endowment En-dowment for the Arts. i jo Ann Ottley, soprano, and Clayne Robison, baritone, head the list of musical celebrities who are participating in a celebration of music by composer Robert Manookin. The public is invited to attend the concert at the American Fork Tabernacle on Friday, May 17 at 8 p.m. Other performers include: Darreel Stubbs, oboe; Gaylen Hatton, French horn; Mack Wilberg, piano; and the Utah Valley choral Society, directed by Lois Johnson with . Kerry Arbon, organist. A selection of vocal, instrumental in-strumental and choral works will be performed. The suggested donation is $3 for students and senior citizens, $4 for ' adults, or $10 for families. For more information, telephone 756-4807. Composer Robert Manookin is especially noted for his sacred choral music, with many works written for and performed by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. Friends i the composer have organized this event and will be performing his works. Jo Ann Ottley is widely known throughout the country as a recitalist and soloist with symphony orchestras. She has appeared many times with the Utah Symphony and Mormon Tabernacle Choir. Clayne Robison is a member of the music faculty at BYU. He has performed more than 60 professional opera appearances, including soloist with the San Francisco Opera Company, the Boston Opera, Portland Opera, the Seattle Opera Association, and has soloed and recorded extensively with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and the Utah Symphony. Darrel Stubbs has performed with the American Woodwind Quintet, the Los Angeles Woodwinds, and the faculty quintets at BYU and the University of Utah. He performed as principal oboist with the Utah Symphony Orchestra for 13 years. Gaylen Hatton is a French horn instructor in the BYU Music Department and performed with the |
