Christensen and David Adamson; Back, Chester Slade, Blaine Nielsen, Larry Adamson and Mark Neeley. Neil Christensen sustained as bishop Neil C. Christensen was sustained as bishop of the Pleasant Grove Sixth Ward, Manila Stake, Sunday, along with Dennis R. Bills .first counselor, and David P. Adamson, second counselor. Sustained as executive secretary was Chester Slade; Larry Adamson as ward clerk; Mark C. Neeley and Blaine A. - Nielsen as assistant clerks. Released after several years of service were Bishop Dale War-burton War-burton and his counselors Carl Clark andNephiBurgener."1 Bishop Christensen was born and raised in Levan. He graduated from Juab High School and received his B.S. Degree from Utah State University and his M.S. and administrative ad-ministrative training from BYU. He is married to the former Alice Louise Wintch of Manti. They have six children: Kay, Carol, Douglas, Scott, Karen and Paul. He is the principal of Lehi High School and previously taught shop and drafting at Pleasant Grove High Scholl, Pleasant Grove Junior High, Lincoln Jr. High, and in the Sevier District for a short time. He spent two' years in the U. S." 1 Army and has served 25 years in the Utah National Guard. He is currently retired as a Colonel from the Guard but is in the stand-by reserve. Bishop Christensen has served as a high councilman, Young Men's president, counselor in the Elder's Quorum and various other positions. He enjoys being in the outdoors with his wife and family. They snow ski, water ski, hunt, camp and fish together. The family runs a small ranch with Neil's two brothers and their families and they enjoy working with the stock. Dennis was born and raised in Herriman, Utah. He is the son of Elton E. and Isabell Bills. He graduated from Bingham High School and served four years in the Navy. He is married to the former Shari McDonald of Roosevelt and they are the parents of seven children. The Bills family has lived in Pleasant Grove for six years and they love it. Dennis works for J. W. Brewer TireinProvo. David was born in Lehi and raised in Salt Lake. He graduated from Granite High School and then from BYU, receiving bachelor, master and doctoral degrees. He is presently principal of the Dan W. Peterson School and in private practice as a psychologist. He has been a bishop's counselor, High Priest Group leader, assistant ward clerk, scoutmaster, Sunday School Superintendent and many other positions. He has received the Silver Beaver for his work in scouting and has been given a special Award of Merit by the. Association for Retarded Citizens for his work with the handicapped han-dicapped and the Army Achievement Medal for his leadershp in the Army Reserve. He and his wife, Alice Jean Adamson, moved to Pleasant Grove from Provo in 1969 and have raised their six children,. David J., Robert, " Billy, Tom, Bonnie Jean, and Michael, who is deceased, in the community. Chester was born in Durango, Colorado and went to high school at Globe, Ariz. He moved to Pleasant Grove in 1959. He married Phyllis , Zufelt and they have four children, three daughters and one son. They have six grandchildren. He has served as executive secretary and assistant executive secretary and Sunday School president, and twice as Elder's Quorum secretary. He works for U. S. Steel at Geneva. Larry was the second of five sons born to Grant A. and Anna Boren Adamson. He grew up in Pleasant Grove, graduating from Pleasant Grove High School. His high school experience was highlighted by being Seminary President and attending the Summer Freedom Academy at Camp Williams, sponsored by the Utah National Guard, as one of two Pleasant Grove boys that year who showed leadership potential. Larry has a 16-year-old daughter, Gina Lynn, by his first marriage. He is married to Gail Fugal and they have two children, Grant, age 5, and Jewel Ann, age 2. He has been employed in Washington and Arizona and has worked as a mechanic for Niels Fugal & Sons since 1977. He was ward clerk and assistant ward clerk under the former bishopric. Mark is married to Susan Wilson and they have four children. He served an LDS mission in Chile for two years. He graduated from BYU in engineering geology and now is employed by the Bureau of Reclamation. . ; .. He has served, as executive secretary and Young Men:s president in Colorado, i ' ' -"Xhile'Symgin Pleasant Groyejie -has served in the Elder's Quorum:" ;- He is the son of Earl and Clarice Neeley of Yuma, Ariz. Blaine was born in Provo and raised in Wyoming. He moved to Pleasant Grove in 1949 and graduated from Pleasant Grove High School. He is a graduate of Utah Technical College, Provo, in sheet metal drafting and layout. He is currently employed . as a sheet metal estimator for Carver Sheet Metal Works in Salt Lake City. He is married to' Mary Rasmussen and they are the parents of four boys and three girls. They have four grandchildren. His hobbies include gardening, reading, fishing and fly tying. He also enjoys traveling and camping with his family. |
