Show Are all furnace energy devices safe? j ,i n By MIKE HOLMES ' With the current concern for the cost of energy, there has appeared in the marketplace an ever-. ever-. increasing number of energy saving devices. While many of these devices are legitimate and safe, there are those which are neither legitimate or safe. The manufacturers manufac-turers of various heating equipment have invested millions of dollars to develop high efficiency equipment, which is both economical and safe to operate and which will stand up to the various conditions which are brought on by the lower flue and heat exchanger temperatures. Devices which claim to make a standard furnace as efficient as the high efficiency furnaces which are manufactured today are most likely to change the way the furnace operates and consequently affect the life of various components, i.e. heat exchanger, gas valve, etc. Your local Day & Night heating equipment dealer wishes to make the public aware of the policy of our manufacturer as regards these retrofit devices. Since Day & Night has no means to determine how these devices will operate in conjunction witn existing oPfuture Day & Night heating and air conditioning products, they cannot assume any responsibility for their performance. Further, a device that requires modification of Day & Night equipment from the way it was originally listed or designed by UL or AGA could jeopardize the manufacturer s warranty.
