Baby Kimberly enjoys the apperance of the flowers, too. Tiny fingers make beautiful flowers for Mother's Day Mothers of Central Elementary School's third grade students taught by Jack Freeman will receive a pleasant surprise Sunday, Mother's Day, when they are presented with roses the children made themselves. Each of the 27 students has made a bouquet of beautiful crepe paper roses for their moms. The bouquets are arranged nicely in a bud vase. Mr. Freeman showed the children how to make the roses and they went to work. He reported that some of the kids caught on really quickly and many of these made little innovations of their own to add to the attractiveness of the flowers. The faster ones helped the ones who took a little longer to make their roses. The children have spent about two weeks on the project. Each bouquet contains from four to 12 flowers. Colors used include peach, goldenrod yellow, pink, ice blue, violet and American Beauty red. Leaf green was used for the stems and green leaves were added. Mr. Freeman's students have done this flower project for the past six years. The children will take the bouquets home just before Mother's Day. |
