Show 'Of Thee I Sing' presented By CINDY LLOYD "Of Thee I Sing," a musical comedy set in 1931 is presently being presented at the Alhambra Theater in Pleasant Grove. The action takes place in Atlantic City and New York City in the prohibition-depression era. A political party of some sort (they haven't decided which) proposes to have their candidate elected by selecting a Miss Whitehouse Beauty Queen and marry him off to her, thereby winning by popular vote. However, much of the comedy failed and repeats of song portions throughout the play became boring. Overall the acting was good with outstanding performances given by Dean Nickels as President John P. Wintergreen, coming across as a smooth politician, but at the same time deeply and sincerely in love with Mary Turner.
