All groups will be judged in the following categories-loveable- , most like owner, cud-dliest, most affectionate, best-dresse- . most dignified, most humorous nature, tiniest, largest, shy and sweet, most outgoing, and best personality. All animals will have to be con-trolled by leash, cage or the owner holding on to it. According to Allyson Christof-ferso- n the Pet Show was a big success last year. Some of the animals shown included a talking cockatiel and a very colored unusually parrot. Audience par-ticipation was also wonderful and very much appreciated. Allyson hopes to have an even larger tur-nout to the Pet Show this year. Sounds like lots of fun, so don't miss it! These 21 girls will compete for Homecoming Queen honors tomorrow night at the Queen Pageant in the high school auditorium. ; , . This group of girls have performed in ihe.lniermountain Area and won second place in the state Rocky Mountain Drill Contest. They are from Pleasant Grove, Lindon, Orem and American Fork. They have performed in drill, jazz, clog, tap and creative ballet. The Mini Jazzettes, the Junior Jazzettes and the Super Jazzettes will be performing at the Pleasant Grove City Fair at 4 p.m. Saturday, September 22. i Earl and Ilene Beck named Grand Marshalls I for PGHS homecoming itt; Eari a. and Ilene Beck will serve h; as Grand Marshals of the Pleasant Grove Homecoming this week. Earl A. and Ilene Beck moved to feasant Grove in 1926, when Earl A Was hired by Alpine School District as Music Supervisor. He had charge of the band, orchestra, and the choruses of the Pleasant C Grove High School for 12 years. The band played for many ball games and parades throughout the state. One of his bands played three n4(' concert numbers at the MIA con- - lerence held at the Salt Lake (J:', Tabernacle. His choruses joined a district chorus to furnish music for the U.E.A. convention. Earl A. Bii directed an operetta in the high school each year he was there,in-it- t eluding Victor Herbert's "Red npf Mill," "The Debutant," Schubert's as! "Rosemund," and others. Earl A. was principal in the una elementary schools in Juab and k'i Alpine District for about 20 years, rct,o and taught at BYU for 23 years, k In civic and church work, Earl has worked in the Pleasant Grove City Council for two terms, acted as City Judge for a time, was a charter member of the Lions Club, and has been a member of the Chamber of Commerce. He was director of the Pleasant Grove Stake for 19 years. He served two terms in the bishopric of the Second Ward and was a high councilman for nine years. Ilene has worked in several banks in Provo and Salt Lake and was secretary for the division superintendent of maintenance and utilities at Geneva Works for 28 years. She has served as president two terms in the MIA and has been active in other organizations in the ward. Pleasant Grove has been the happy home of the Becks and their four children and six of their 20 grandchildren.
