The winners will be seen at the Youth Exhibit held in connection with the Utah Pageant of the Arts June 9 through July 20. A "Best of the Show" was chosen along with sweepstakes winners in each grade, kindergarten through 12. The top winners will receive a $50 U.S. Savings Bond at opening night ceremonies. Other representative entries will be hung in the exhibit, with each to receive a certificate denoting this honor and achievement. Approximately 28,000 people are expected to view the show during the run of the exhibit. I Marcia Peterson, project I chairman, and Geri Draper, I coordinator, said entries were I received from all over the state ! ranging from as far south as Hanksville and from Brigham City and Ixtgan on the north. I Entries were grouped by grade I for judging at the Pageant Center, j Judging was by four professional artists and a specialist in children's I art. Entries in all mediums including I pencil, crayon, pastel and oils are j included, however crafts were not permitted. Sculpture work was accepted and encouraged. All paintings were mounted. Judges were impressed with the quality of work entered in each grade and wre hard pressed to determine the final winners. Each entry was considered individually and against other grade level I works. Richard Mecham, Alpine School J District; Marilyn Dahl, Cheryl Brenchley, Cathy Durrant, Kathy 9 Ellis, Gina Harness", Marily Crawford, Mr. and Mrs. Starr I Brockbank, Kathy Folkman and I Judy Rasmussen assisted Ms. J Draper in coordinating the show. An entry by Jon McNaughton, an eleventh grade student from Mountain View High School in Orem, took "Best of the Show" honors, Mrs. Peterson said. Sweepstakes honors went to Craig Bracken, Murray, kindergarten; Jacob Nirldrn, Riverton, first grade; Andrew Bracken, Murray, second grade; Colby Clark, Orem, third grade; Mike Forsythe, Orem, fourth grade; Kendall Soothe, Alpine, fifth grade; Diane Hatch, Orem, sixth grade; Cindy Cheney, Brigham City, seventh grade; Boone Harness, Springville, eighth grade; Kristen Pageant story goes to Brigham City The story of Utah Pageant of the Arts went to Brigham City recently, when Betty G. Spencer, script writer and public relations director, spoke to members and guests fo the Civic Improvement Club. The meeting was held at the Community Center auditorium. Mrs. Spencer's presentation was illustrated with a slide presentation, with two of the selections recreated through taped music and her narration read via tape by Aaron C. Card who ' been the Pageant "voice" y ' past ten seasons. The audio visual equipment operated by Steven Brockfc with Mrs. David 0. (fc J Brockbank also participaun ' the program. ' I Mrs. Sarah S.
