The bride-elec- t graduated from Pleasant Grove High School and LDS Seminary where she was active in many organizations. She was the sophomore head cheerleader, junior representative while in the drill team and a varsity songleader. She was also the junior class secretary and historian for the A Cappella Choir. He was active in many sports including football, basketball, tennis and soccer. He was also active in student government and served as president of the senior class. He received a leadership scholarship and attended Brigham Young University for a semester. He plans to return this fall. The couple will live in Provo. BOB THKAS11KK, PAM AI.LKN Concerts and cultural arts show scheduled at PL Grove Jr. High The Pleasant Grove Junior High School Choral Concert will be held May 16, today, at 7 p.m. in the school auditorium. The band concert will be held May 17 at 7 p.m. in the auditorium. The Cultural Arts Fair for the school will be held both days in the foyer of the Pleasant Grove Junior High School. On May 16 the displays will be open for viewing before, after and during the choral concert. On Thursday the displays will be up all day and during the. band concert. Those unable to attend the concerts are invited to visit the school during the day Thursday to see the exhibits. Displays are being prepared from the Art Department, Arts and Crafts Classes, Home Economics Department, shop classes and the English Department. The public is invited to attend. The faculty and staff of Pleasant Grove Junior High will host an openhouse on May 30, 4-- 6 p.m. in the Home Economic's room in Mr. Bezzant's honor. All friends are invited. Mr. Bezzant obtained his teaching and administrator's certificates from Brigham Young University and in 1967 he received his Masters degree, majoring in recreation and minoring in administration. He began his teaching career as the principal of the elementary school in Randolph, Utah, in the fall of 1949 and served there four years. He then taught physical education, math, and health at Richfield Junior High for four years and was the baseball coach and assistant football coach. He then moved to Pleasant Grove and has taught in the Alpine School District from 1957 to 1984. He served two years at Lincoln Junior High as a math and business teacher and then transferred to Pleasant Grove Junior High to teach physical education, health, and math. He has coached numerous track, tennis, and basketball teams. Mr. Bezzant has served in many capacities in church and community including Bishop, High Council, Stake Athletic Director, Scoutmaster, YMMIA President and Counselor, and Community School Director. He and his wife, Mae, have seven children, five sons and two daughters: Michael Bezzant, Gary Bezzant, Bruce Bezzant, Douglas Bezzant, Steven Bezzant, Julene Mikalauski, and Karen Bezzant. They also have 16 grandchildren. With all his public and church responsibilities, he has always managed to have time for his large family both in work and play. Hunting, fishing, and many ball games were always shared as a family. KEITH BEZZANT S.F. talent show auditions slated The Spanish Fork Arts Council is holding auditions for an upcoming benefit talent show. Hughes completes basic course Navy Seaman Recruit Delmar O. Hughes, son of Mr. and Mrs. Otis M. Hughes of 622 E. 700 N., Pleasant Grove, Utah, has completed the Basic Yeoman Course. During the nine-wee- k course at the Naval Technical Training Center, Meridian, Miss., students received instruction on office organization, English, typing, and filing. They studied correspondence procedures, records preparation, administrative reporting requirements and office management procedures. |
