PGHS Choral Department to present Spring Concert Thurs. 1 The Pleasant Grove High School A Cappella Choir will be the featured group in a spring choral concert at the Tiigh school auditorium Thursday, May 17. Slated to begin at 7:30 p.m., the program will also feature the Chamber Choir, the Mixed Chorus, and several small groups and soloists. The Mixed Chorus will sing "O Bone Jesu" by Palestrina, "Jum Bah Yah", and Two Slavonic Folk Songs, among other selections. The Chamber choir will present their stage show, which won a Superior Hating at the Show Choir Festival held recently. Among the soloists will be Terresa Bristol, singing "The Ixiss With The Delicate Air"; Julie Brown, singing "Se Tu Ma Mi"; a girls double quartet singing "Calm as the Night" with Karalee Flinders, Ellen Lloyd, Julie Brown, Terresa Bristol, Julie Brown, Shelley Welchel, Andrea Rowley, Becky Pratt, and Teri Rosenlof; and a boys ensemble, singing "I'm a Poor Lonesome Cowboy", with Spencer Budd, Doug Maughan, Glade Holman, Jason Firth, Paul Bronson, Dave Boss, Mike Moore, Ron Mangum, and Victor Jewkes. The A Cappella Choir recently returned from the east coast, where they performed at the Washington Temple, the Rotunda of the National Archives, and St. Patrick's Cathedral on Easter Sunday. They also just last week scored a Superior Rating and won the first place trophy in the region choral music festival. The judges gave them just two points less than a combined perfect 'score.
