Show Mt. Bell to sell function products The Utah Public Service Commission has approved a plan allowing Mountain Bell to sell, rather than lease, selected residential functional products. Products covered by the decision are those which perform functions func-tions more advanced than simple communication com-munication of voice or data over a phone line. They include the TeleHelper Answer and Record Unit, the Auto-Matic Telephone-, Telephone-, the Touch-a-Matic dialer to add to your present phone, the Touch-a-Matic phone and the TeleHelper Speakerp-hone. Customers already leasing items in the residence functional product line will have the option of continuing to lease their equipment under existing rates, or buying the equipment already on their premises. Any acquisitions of new equipment in the functional product line will be purchases. Those who choose to purchase their existing sets will be sent special stickers to put on their phones - stickers indicating in-dicating that the phone now belongs to them. They will also receive a warranty information kit. The warranty for equipment already on a customer premises covers a 30-day period. After that, customers may still bring their equipment to a PhoneCenter for repair, with the repair costs being the customer's responsibility. Customers are reminded that under the new policy, they have the option to continue leasing the functional equipment only if it is presently on their premises. |
