Pleasant Grove schools celebrate American Education Week Nov. 14-20 Strong Nation Needs Strong Schools." The public is invited to visit local schools during the week to observe firsthand the American Educational process. Alpine District Schools will join the state and nation in the celebration of American Education Week, Nov. 14-20, 1982. Several agencies are working together during the week to help foster public awareness concerning the role of public education in our society along with the contribution of teachers to the lives of students. Along with the Alpine School District, the local teacher association (AEA) and area PTA groups are sponsoring various activities to bring public attention to the public education process. Local congressional representatives have been invited to serve as guest lecturers in the schools; displays which focus on the accomplishments ac-complishments of America's education system are being i prepared; and students I are participating in a variety of events during I the week. Pleasant Grove PTA ( Council President, j Linda Chipman, invites the public to join in the celebration of American Education Week. "I urge all citizens to make a commitment to public education and to the future of Alpine District Children by visiting their local public schools and by donating their time and talents to help make the public schools even better," said Chipman. American Education Week has been observed nationwide since 1921. It seeks to encourage local , citizen support ' .arid active participation in the improvement of education.
