Reid Greenwood, children of Mr. and Mrs. Mercer J. Greenwood, will host an open house in honor of their parents 50th wedding anniversary, to be held Sunday, Nov. 14, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Huggard home, 50 East 760 North, American Fork. The event is open to all friends and relatives. They request no gifts. Mercer and May were married Nov. 10, 1932 in Shelley, Idaho. Mercer was born in American Fork on July 8, 1911 to William J. and Sophia Johnson Greenwood. He was an employee of Geneva Steel for 29 years, retiring in 1971. May Tufts Greenwood was born in Basalt, Idaho, Nov. 5, 1912, to Luther LaForest and Elsie Criddle Tufts. She has served in various capacities in the LDS Church, which includes 18 years as secretary of the American Fork Sixth Ward and Alpine Stake Relief Society, and five years as Sixth Ward Primary Secretary. She has done extensive genealogy research, temple work and is active in the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. The Greenwood's are the parents of two children: Fae G. Huggard, American Fork, and J. Reid Greenwood, Salt Lake City. They have seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. |
