Show Strawberry Days Will Entertain Thousands the Invitational Relay Swim Meet at the Pleasant Grove City pool at 10 a.m., and of course the final night of rodeo will be at the arena at 8 p.m. Also on Saturday there will be a bike marathon starting at 9 a.m., for anyone 18 years or older. Riders will compete for a $100 prize and should register at the City Recreation Office, time there will be a Horse Pulling contest at the Pleasant Grove Arena, 3:30 p.m. There will be some of the top pulling horses in the state and some from out of stre, and if you like to see strong horses pulling together, you should not miss this new event. Strawberries and Cream will be served in the city park on Main each day of the event, and also at the rodeo grounds each evening. Other -eats are also available and the City of Fun Carnival will be here for the enjoyment of the youngster of all ages. Pleasant Grove's royalty will be in attendance at all of the events. Melanie Jones is Strawberry Days Queen with attendants Kelly Collett and Kerrie Brinkerhoff. show and art show will be held in the old Jr. High lunch room, and an Arts and Craft exhibit will be held in the Pleasant Grove Recreation building at 45 East 200 South. Exhibits should be in the evening before, and the show will open at around noon. The Pioneer Museum and Cabin hours will also start right after the parade on Thursday morning. Thursday morning, while the parade is going on a Mini-Marathon Road Race will start at the high school, run around a prescribed 6.2 mile course, and will have the runners coming back to the high school to finish. Entrants should register for this at around 8 a.m., the morning of this event at the high school. Before the official start of the events on Thursday, a children's parade is slated for Wednesday evening, June 18, starting at 6 p.m. Riding Club Pararde Friday evening at 6 p.m., Riding Clubs from all over the state will participate in a stock parade down the Pleasant Grove Main Street. Beautiful horses and accoutrements ac-coutrements will delight the horse lover. Saturday morning will be Utah's oldest continuous celebration "Strawberry Days" is set for June 18, 19 and 20, according to officials of the association which puts on the annual event. Strawberry Days was started in 1921 and has been running ever since. Big feature of the event, of course is the nightly rodeo starting at the arena west of Pleasant Grove at 8 p.m. Patrons are asked to be in their seats a little earlier and not miss a minute of the three night rodeo. The rodeo is sanctioned by the Rodeo Cowboys of America and is assured of some of the top cowboys in the rodeo circuit being here to ride the stock of D.A. "Swanny" Kirby, producer. Tryouts for rodeo queen will occur May 30, at 7:30 p.m., at the Pleasant Grove Rodeo arena. A dance festival will take place on the Sr. High School football field, at 7:30 p.m., . Wednesday evening. On Thursday morning at 10 a.m., and again at 6 p.m., that same day, a parade will wind down Pleasant Grove's Main Street and East up Second South.
