Chairmen of the event were Mar Nae Taylor, left, and Sherry Hardman. Barry Bezzant Awarded Special Scholarship Barry Bezzant 'was awarded the 1981 "Blood" scholarship by the PGHS student council. Barry is the son of Dean and Reva Bezzant of Pleasant Grove. Barry has maintained a 3.81 GPA throughout his school career. His school activities included membership in the A Cappella choir, show band, concert , choir, golf and tennis teams, and a member of the National Honors Society. He is also the vice president of activities ac-tivities at the LDS Seminary. This year Barry was the region champ in tennis doubles. Other activities Barry has participated in, include being 1st assistant in his priest quorum, and he is now serving as the assistant cub scout leader. Barry's future plans include attending the Brigham Young University, serving an LDS mission, and finally obtaining a masters degree in civil engineering. The "Blood" scholarship was awarded because students at Pleasant Grove High School donated the most blood to the Utah Valley Hospital, of any of the high schools in Utah County. Studentbody secretary secreta-ry Sherry Hardman was chairperson over this drive, and was assisted by MarNae Taylor. |
