' . . , ... v V.,-'- '' - " ' ' - ' ' ' " 'I Horse Show Marianne Murdock of Pleasant Grove shows her riding form on 'Dazalar,' one of the Arabian horses to be shown in Spanish Fork this week. r : Arabian Show Begins Tomorrow j The tenth annual Utah Valley Arabian Horse Show sponsored by the Utah Arabian Horse Club will be held May at the Spanish Fork Fairgrounds according to chairman, Lindsey Bayless of Lindon. This is a class "A" show and has drawn arabian owners from throughout Utah, Arizona, Nevada, Colorado, Idaho and other western states. Halter, youth and performance classes are scheduled during the two day event. Some of the classes include Park, English and Western Pleasure, Side Saddle, Driving, Dressage, Hackamore, Work Cow Horse, Trail and Stock Horse. Classes will begin Friday morning, May 22 at 8 a.m. and will include showmanship, youth and adult per-formance classes. They will begin at 2 p.m. and again at 7 p.m. Halter classes will begin at 8 a.m. on Saturday, May 23 for half and purebred arabians and will continue again at 1:30 p.m. A parade of champions will be held immediately after the halter classes, followed by more performance classes. The Saturday evening session will begin at 7 p.m. and will include performance classes as well as the championship finals. The beautiful costume classes will be held early both Friday and Saturday evenings. Though there are many costumes they are never alike in design or color, as each creator strives for originality. These costumes are valued at over a thousand dollars each. The show will be held in the open arena, if the weather permits and in the covered area if it storms. Admission is free for all classes and the public is cordially invited to at-tend. Contact Mrs. Bayless if there are any questions at 785-511- Former Publisher Observes 88th Birthday He and Nona built a motel at the time of the construction of Geneva Steel Company and rented to the workers. This facility was later purchased by Tri City Ford and a real estate company. He was a member of the Utah Press Association for many years receiving many awards for his newspaper. He was given the Master Editor Award. He was also a member of the LDS Church and for many years sent the local newspaper to the missionaries and service men free of charge. Frank and Nona traveled ex-tensively to many foreign lands in-cluding, Japan, the Orient, Hawaiian Islands, Mexico, Canada and Alaska. They also have been to almost every state in the United States. Council for one term. He was a charter member of the American Fork Lions Club, served as president and still is involved in Lionism. He was a member of the first American Fork Hospital Board, has served on both the Poultry Days and the Steel Days committees. He was a member of the Elks Lodge, the Riverside Country Club and the Knife and Fork Club of Provo. A Frank Gaisford will observe his 88th birthday on May 21, (today) with lis wife Nona and daughters at a family dinner. He was born May 21, 1893 in Salt Lake City a son of A. Frank and Elizabeth M. Beverly Gaisford. Frank attended his first and second years in school at Fillmore where his lather had purchased the newspaper. Atter two years the family moved luck to Salt Lake and after another year they moved to Lehi and his lather worked at the Lehi newspaper lor George Webb. Frank graduated Irom the Lehi High School. A. Frank Gaisford, along with his lather and two brothers, Edward and vidor, purchased the Lehi Sun newspaper and printed that and the Farmer for about 12 years. Victor quit the newspaper business the father died leaving Frank and red running the business. They ght the American Fork and feasant Grove newspapers in the I W30's and sold the Pleasant I ,e Review to Abe Gibson in the y 1940 s. They kept the American ork Citizen until 1963 when they sold Russell Innesof Lehi. FRANK GAISFORD I Dance Students to Present Salute to Disney Legacy The students of Joan LaComb School of Dance will present a dazzling salute to the world of Disney next Wednesday and Thursday, May 27 and 28, at the American Fork Jr. High School auditorium. Local participants will depict the fun and magic that have made Disneyland a favorite vacation spot for families. Many Disney characters will come alive on stage weaving the imagination through Small Small World, Adventureland and America Sings. Pinnochio, Pete's Dragon, Alice in Wonderland, The Seven Dwarfs to name only a few will visit through the medium of dance. Curtain time is at 7:30 p.m. both nights. There is a brilliant array of costumes and enough en-tertainment to brighten your . day. See you there for an inexpensive way to see Disneyland this year!
