Show Lucas to teach KAC tile workshop The Kimball Art Center will sponsor a ceramic tile painting workshop taught by Salt Lake native Lark Lucas. The workshop will be held Monday to Friday, Aug. 13 to 17 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is available for college credit. Registration Registra-tion fee is $145 for noncredit and $165 for credit, including materials. Each student will have the opportunity to create and produce a ceramic tile painting. Lucas will give a slide presentation on the background back-ground of mosaic tile on buildings and ceramic tile paintings. She also will lead a discussion on art as a profession, teaching art and selling art. Lucas received her training at Choinards Art Institute in Los Angeles and earned a B.A. degree in art from the University of Utah. Her tile paintings have received international internat-ional recognition in Australia, Canada and Mexico. Lucas travels as an artist, educator and lecturer throughout the United States and has recently completed three murals for the Institute tar Scientific Information in Philadelphia.
