According to Assistant Fire Chief Kelly Gee, the aiaim was called in about 8:50 p.m., while most of the Park City force was on duty for training exercises. He said 27 firefighters responded. "We had an overabundance of personnel," he said. There was concern that the blaze might spread to a car wash building about 50 feet away and to a nearby propane tank. However, Gee said it was contained within 15 minutes and extinguished within 30. Gee said through traffic on U-224 had to be halted for about 25 minutes while hoses were run from a hydrant near the tennis courts at the Park Avenue condominiums. "The closest hydrant was across the street about 500 yards away. ' ' Gee indicated that the city has since been asked to install a hydrant on the northeast corner of the intersection. The property is part of the proposed Snow Creek development. |
