Show Don Henley to rock at Park West Friday ( r Former Eagle Don Henley an alumnus of such classic albums as "Desperado" and "On the Border" will entertain under the tent at ParkWest Resort tomorrow, July 26, . at 7:30 p.m. The 38-year-old Texan grew up listening to blues, country and rock 'n' roll, and formed high school and garage groups from which the band Shiloh grew. At the encouragement of singer Kenny Rogers, Shiloh headed west to Los Angeles in the early '70s, where the band made an album with Rogers for Amos Records. Also working at Amos was Glenn Frey, who invited Henley to join Linda Ronstadt's touring band. While on tour, Henley and Frey made plans that culminated in the formation of the Eagles. Henley collaborated in writing the hits that drew attention to the Eagles, among them "Witchy Woman" (with Bernie Leadon), "Desperado," "Tequila Sunrise," "James Dean" and "Best of my Love." In 1975 he won a Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Performance on "Lyin' Eyes," which he wrote with Frey for the "One of these Nights" album. He garnered another Grammy (for LP of the Year) for "Hotel California," on which he shared writing chores. Among the album's hits: "New Kid in Town," "Life in the Fast Lane" and "Victim of Love." Before the Eagles disbanded in 1980, the group put together "The Long Run" (1977), for which Henley co-wrote the hit, "Heartache Tonight," To-night," with Frey, J.D. Souther and Bob Segar. After the breakup, Henley released releas-ed his -first solo album, "I Can't Stand Still" (August 1982), which yielded the single, "Dirty Laundry." Next he joined Geffen Records for "Building the Perfect Beast," produced by Henley with Danny Kortchmar and Greg Ladnyi. It features songwriting collaborations by Henley, Kortchmar, J.D. Souther, South-er, Benmont Tench and Stan Lynch, among others. "The Boys of Summer" was the debut single from the album.
