Jan Sylvester sinks putt on 9th green as Francine Valline consults scorecard and Annie Bowman tends the flag in opening day action of the Ladies Association Tournament Lady Golfers Begin Season The Park City Ladies Association began its first week of golf play May 19 with a lowest amount of putts tournament n the Park City Golf Course. Camille Turner, Phyllis Crosland and Lorraine Anderson tied for first place honors in the nine hold competition with 18 putts apiece lee Bennett was second with 20 and Sand Wright was third with 21. Jan Sylvester and Annie Bowman tied for first place in 18 hole competition having 37 putts apiece. Francine Valline was second with 46 putts. "Most of our association, which has over 100 members, don't start playing until June," said Alice Williams president of the group. "We had 14 women in the nine hold group this week and three in the 18 hole group." Willaims also credited the weather with having a negative effect on the first week tournout. The ladies tournament next week will be a low gross event meaning the lowest score, without handicap, takes the prize money home. There is still room for members in the ladies associaton according to Williams. A $16 membership includes Utah Gold Association and P.C. Ladies . Association memberships, a rulebook, directory and eligibility for weekly prize money. Interested persons in either the nine of 18 hole association can contact Alice Williams at 649-8418 or the P.C.
