Show Muckers Fall to Zebras in Idaho The Park City Muckers returned home this week after yet another unpleasant encounter with the Idaho Falls Zebras. Park City lost 16 to 20 to the Idaho side August 14 at city park and traveled to Idaho last week to face a 34 tn 16 Weat. Mucker President Dave Sundquist said Park City played slowly and without their usual finesse. On the other hand, the zebras were very '"high" for the game seeking additional revenge for the 41 to 10 pommelling they suffered at the hands of the Muckers last season. Poor tackeling on Park City's part quickly gave Idaho a 14 to 0 lead early in the first half. The Muckers came back near the close of the period with a try and extra point conversion to make it 14 to 6. Mucker Rick Phaler. started the play with a kick into the end zone which was touched down by John Sundquist foi the try. Phaler's conversion added two more points to the Park City slate. Phaler later scored a three-point penalty kick to close out the half at 14 to 9. The second half was completely com-pletely dominated by Idaho Falls scoring 20 points to Park City's seven. Park City's seven points came from a try and later a penalty kick. Scrom half Vinni Balch stole the ball on a hook deep within Idaho territory and charged over the line to score the try. The ball was touched down in the corner making Phaler's conversion con-version near impossible. Phaler made up for the missed conversion scoring a penalty kick from 35 yards out to conclude Park City's scoring for the match. The next scheduled match is the annual Challenge Cup tournament slated for September Sept-ember 12 and 13. A list of teams participating in the " tournament should be released re-leased next week. Sundquist adds there may be a game this weekend against the BYU Cats of Provo. |
