Show Md School Starts Basketball graders. The faculty is trying very hard to involve every fifth and sixth grade student in a fun activity during the noon hour. Everyone is invited and everyone should be able to find plenty of good, clean fun during the noon hour. Intramural basketball competition competi-tion began at Carl Winters Middle School on Monday, November 14, 1977. Teams made up of 3 boys and 2 girls involving both Seventh and Eighth Grades initiated the noon time program with a flurry of enthusiasm and an intense desire to move on in the championship playoffs. The first week of action, confined to preliminary games and organizational organiza-tional matters saw the seventh grade field nine co-ed teams and the eighth grade eight. Full scale rivalry for the coveted title of intra-mural class chamption began in earnest on November 21, 1977. A full slate of games is scheduled over the next four weeks culminating in the championship games scheduled for just before the Christmas vacation. Intramural competition will be emphasized at Winters Middle School this year because it gives everyone a chance to compete successfully in a number of events including basketball, volleyball, vol-leyball, table tennis, one on one basketball, Softball, chess, track and field and anything else students show interest in.
