Show T r lt t is,. Rosa Jordan New Writer Joins Record Rosa Jordan, a freelance journalist specializing in political analysis, travel and sports articles, arti-cles, has joined the staff of the Park Record. Although Rosa grew up in Florida, she has lived in the West so long that she now claims to "freak at the thought of a visit to anyplace in the U.S. east of Denver." For the past two years she has spent summers in California and winters in British Columbia, with "trips to just about anywhere in between." She has a B.A. degree in political science from UCLA, and an M.A. in creative writing from the University of Guanajuato's Instituto Allende in Mexico. Her graduate thesis was a full-length noval set in Utah. "The novel was based in part on three years I spent in Utah in the early sixties," she said. "The Park City ski resort was just being developed then and climbing the mountain to watch construction, riding the lifts on their first test runs, and skiing that first, snow-scarce December gave me a special attachment to the area." She subsequently left to attend college, and later traveled extensively exten-sively in North and South America. "This is the first chance I've had to re-evaluate Park City," she said. Eleven years make a lot of difference, but it appears that growth has increased the town's vitality without diminishing its charm." |
