Show Alva Deardon In a telephone interview with incumbent 4-year County Commissioner Com-missioner Alva Deardon of Henefer. the Record learned that he is "in favor of controlled growth--master planning." He is familiar with the master zoning plan devised by Mr. Green hall, and says that he sees "nothing in it that would retard growth; it definitely is a good plan." Mr. Deardon feels that the development of oil resources in the area has been "in the best interest of the county. Every new well increases tax valuation by two million dollars. They're going to it;.ve seven more wells, and that's not hay for a county our size." He feels that he has a record of strong support for senior citizens, as during his iVi years as Commissioner, he helped get a 4-Corners grant of $4000 for senior citizen projects, and another for $6000. Five' hundred dollars whs cut from the county budget for senior citizens last year, but he personally opposed the cut. |
