Show NO IHERSION FOR PRESBYTERIAN v. PITTSBURG. Dec. 13. A movement to authorize immersional baptism In Presbyterian churches in the United States was approved In tho report f a committee to the Pittsburg Presbytery Presby-tery today, but after a heated discussion, discus-sion, was rejected. ' Rev. Dr. R. S. Shaff, of the West- ' em Theological seminary, chairman of the committee on bills and overtures, over-tures, reported the recommendation ' that the words, "sprinkling and pour-' ing" be stricken from the book of discipline, and the word "baptize" sub-j fctltuted. I Rev. W. L. McEwan. pastor of the Third Presbyterian church, cautioned ; against hurried action on such an Im- j pOTtant matter and declared that uu-' der the present arrangement a mem-. ber had the privilege of Immersion, j Rev. George suggested th it those who desired the radical change should be given a ''clean bill of health and sent over to the Baptist . church."
