Show INVESTIGATING FRIAR LAND DEALS WASHINGTON. Dec. 13. The Philippine Phil-ippine Friar Land trnnsactions were again under Investigation by the house committee on Insular affairs today. . Representative Martin of Colorado Col-orado continued hi3 statement elaborating elabo-rating the charges against the manner man-ner in which these estates had been handled by the Philippine govern ment. Capt, E. II. Sleeper, registrar of lands of the Philippine government testified regarding the transactions. He said that when K. H. Hoole, who has floured In Mr. Martin's charges, called on him he declared that he was representing the sugar syndicate, syndi-cate, but did not indicate who he was acting for In seeking a deed to friar lands. He took up In detail Mr. Martin's charges, but his testimony was along the lines of the special report of the investigation sent to Secretary Dickinson. |
