Show EVIDENCE IN FAVOR OF HYDE Kansas City, Xov. 23. John Edgor-ton, Edgor-ton, of Helena. Mont., a fraternity bioih of Dr, B. Ch'.rk Hyde, convicted of the murder of Col. Thomas H. Swope. millionaire and philanthropist, philanthro-pist, has come to the doctor's aid. In a letter received here, Edgerton says he sent Hyde two pounds of cyanide cy-anide in July of 1S3 after a casual meeting with the physician on board! a train in Kansas. This statement is considered of vital Importance to Dr. Hyde, as It may bridge what was j claimed to bo the weakest point in his defense. Hyde testified he found cyanide of potassium useful In killing bugs Asked Ask-ed If he had ever purchased any pre vious to that shown by evidence in the Swope case, he said he had a great deal. Asked to ghe the names ef druggists where he had purchased it, Hyde said he could not remember where he got. it. Hyde is under life sentence for Ihe murder of Col Swope and has appealed appeal-ed to the supreme court. |
