Show THE ORPHEUM. j The bill of amusement offered at j the Orpheum this week Is not one ' of the best programmes of vaudeville vaude-ville ever seen In Ogden, but It Is unique lu that It contains two head liners and other acts of almost equal merit. The house was packed to the doors with the usual "first night" , audience. The opening feature Is Wheeling Wheelock and Unicycle Hay in a cycle act. This team does all of the stunts that were ever shown in Og- , (ii: and several that are apparently original. Wheelock's one foot work en the bicycle and the unicycle and his Merry Widow waltz made quite a hit. Hay's ballet dance on the unicycle uni-cycle nnd the team work on the sin- ! pie wheel were really wonderful. Miss Irene Howicy, the "Manhattan i Girl." did a few comic songs, with a rapid change of bcnvtlful costume. Miss Howley's style of entertainment resembles that of the "Blonde In Black," who appeared lure a short time ago. She sang an Italian character char-acter song, the "Bear Rrs," "You ; Can't Keep the Irish Down" and "That Crazy Rag" and made a separ ate hit with each. 1 Mr. and Mrs. Erwln Connelly In their version of "Sweethearts ' should I have been the head liners. The sketch tells a story of the faithful vows of two sweethearts, their part- ' Ing and the return of the "boy" after af-ter forty jearg of absence in India io ; find that the "girl still waited for ' him. The character work of each of the players Ih worth especial com- . iDCndation. Mrs. Connelly ns the eld- : rrly maid was especially pleasing. ' The sketch is a good one and unusual ' enough to impress itself upon the the- ! atre-goer's mind. I. em-Put, a French clown. In imper- t sonatlons of animals, musical instru- I ments and human voices was so en- 1 tlrely out of the ordinary f'r an Am- j erlcnn singe that his reception was i doubt fill and his Impersonations are I probably what France would rave ov- ! c r. l . t his qualities are not quite un- ! derstood in this countdy, in Ogden at le:;sl. j George McKay assisted by Miss Su- : zanna Johnstone, In their satire, "On ; the Gret White Way." deserved every ev-ery bit of the applause given. McKay, Mc-Kay, as Il.inest Bill, the Patrolman, i and later as Mr Souse, a tipsy swell, gae us an Inkling of what a really ! classy performer can dol Cantwell In his double roll of Swipsy. the pick- ' pocket nnd Swiftv, the messenger, equalled the excellent work of his partner. The dancing o the pair I was quite novel and many encores j were demanded. Miss Suzanne is a j pretty little woman and should have more to do. I The closing number on the bill was a E'iropr?a;i gymnastic ad by the Krag.s trio two men and .a lady. ' Their work v.,is really remarkable. In the wonderful strength displayed by the men and the agility of the )oun lady. The stiuus performed by this 'r!o have never before heea -l:own in Ogden :nd to say that thej ' were tecer.cd with favor would be , p.Uing it very mildy.
