Show BLACK HAWK VETERAHS MEETING AT COURT HOUSE A number of tho grlxrled veterans of tbo Black Hawk war of Utah, are happy today to know their splondld services of years ago, in the protection protec-tion of life and property.aro appreciated appreciat-ed and that some substantial recognition recog-nition of their heroic efforts Is about to be extended. The recent legislatuse provided for tho appointment of a commission to visit the various parts of the state and find all the veterans, or their wives, of the early Indian wars, get their affidavits of service and forward for-ward them to the pension department depart-ment of the government, that thoy might be rewardod. The oummLssion appointed is as follows: J. M. Wcstwood, Springvlllo; M. L. Pratt. Provo. and J. H. Arthur, Cedar City. They are meeting with the old Indian fighters of this section at the county court bouse this afternoon, and they will be here during most of tomorrow, or, all day. If necessary. The veterans who have met with tho commission up to the time of going to press this afternoon, are: Calvin Wilson, Ogden; Elizabeth Manning, widow of John Manning, Hooper; C. Stoddard, Orace, Idaho; John Green, Peterson, Morgan county; coun-ty; Elizabeth Jones, widow of Richard Rich-ard Jones, Roy; Brlgham Young, Garrison, Gar-rison, Idaho; J. V. Damrom. Des-eret; Des-eret; Joseph M. Robinson, Kanosh; Abiol Abbott. Ogden. |
