Show GOVERNMENT IS THROUGH WITH PRIVATE DETECTIVES Washington. Jan. 21. The services of Brown and Baldwin, tho private detectives, de-tectives, who were paid $16,000 for their services in following up tho members mem-bers of the discharged battalion of the twenty-fifth Infantry, and secured a "confession" from Boyd Conyers. one of the number, have been dispensed with. The war department has not abandoned Its efforts to secure evidence evi-dence as to the identity of the men who did the 6hootlng, but has practically prac-tically decided that private detectives have'accompllshed all that can be expected ex-pected of them. |
