Show SECRET SERVICE BADGES ARE IMITATED AND MADE USE OF New York. Jan. 21. Badges, which ciosely resemble the official ones worn by the agents of the United States secret service, are causing trouble and Captaiu William J. Flynn. chief of the local branch of the service, has ftarted an investigation. The inquiry was started after the arrest of a man who was charged with having impersonated imper-sonated a secret service officer. Speaking Speak-ing of the Inquiry, Captain Flynn said: "We have found these badges in the possession of men of bad character. We found one of them worn by a man who had stolen jewelry, several hundred hun-dred dollars' worth, in a tenderloin resort. We understand that the badges have been distributed all over th country. With the assistance of the United States district attorney wo are polng to see whether we cannot stop the distribution." |
