Show CRIPPLE WINS OUT IN THREE-CORNERED FIGHT A three-cornered rough-and-turahlo scramble occurred on Twenty-fifth street last evening, in -which were concerned a husky six-footer, with a wooden leg. and two smaller men, all apparently In hard luck, and slightly under the inlluence of intoxicants. j The party rumbled- into a pawn broker's office, where the crippled giant asked the proprietor if it would bo possible to raie a few dollarn loan on the person of the smallest of the tilo. Tho latter took particular offense at the remark and endeavored to demonstrate his pugilistic abilities on his larger companion, to back up anything he might have said .and threw the small one bodily through the door to the street, Tho three then mixed in a free-for-all fight, but tile undersized men were not equal to the giant's strength. He pinned both to the sidewalk, and uoiild have choked them probably tn death had not several passers-by interfered, in-terfered, and advised them all to be on their way. The crippled man was helped to his feet and when last seen was hobbling slowly and unsteadily down Twenty-fifth Twenty-fifth street, with his former comrades carefully choosing a different route. |
