The traffic traf-fic officials and railroads convicted last January In the United States district dis-trict court of conspiracy in connection with the refusal to delUer coal to an independent coal dealer, were denied a new trial yesterday and v,lll be sentenced sen-tenced on Monday. The defendants are J. H. Moore.' sales agent of 'the Union Pacific Coal company, Everett Buckingham, former general superintendent superin-tendent of tie Oregon Short Line, the Union Pacific railroad, the Union Pacific Pa-cific Coal company and the Oregon Short Line. The maximum penalty for the offense Is a year In Jail ahd a $1,-000 $1,-000 fine. The ca3e has been, appealed. In finding. Mr. Buckingham guilty the Jury recommended him to the mercy of the court. |
