Show GARLAND SOCIETY f (Spocial to The Standard Examiner) Garland, May 22. Mrs. R. T. Cole of Salt Lake, spent a part of the week visiting with her .parents, Mr. and Mra. A. Horace Gleason and other relatives, In G-arland. Mr. and Mrs. L. W. Preston has returned re-turned from a visit in Salt Lake. Graduating exercises of the Bear River Valley schools were held at Garland Gar-land tabernacle on May 15. After the exercises a ball game was played at the city park. In the evening a grand ball was given at the Palace hall. About two hundred pupils with their parents attended tho party. 0 9 9 Mrs. Clayson of Brigham City, who Is one of the teachers in one of Uie Mexican schools, supervised the work, of her students in an entertainment last week. A number of students gave readings and selections in their native language. 99 Miss Emily Manning, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Manning, received her graduation honors last Tuesday evening, when the seven nurses of the Dee Memorial hospital wero graduated at the Weber Normal college In Ogden. Mrs. R. M. McFarland entertained at an afternoon party last Friday. 9 9 9 Bishop Clark of Farnilngton, spent a part of. the last week as the guest at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Z. C. Grover. 9 9 Mrs. Ellis Hawkes and children of Snowville, is visiting here with her father, C. A. Johnson. Arthur Boblins and son left Sunday' morning for their ranch on Blue Creek. Mr. and Mrs. R. T. Daniels and children haye moved to Malad City, Ida., whero they will make their future fu-ture home. S. L. Cox of Snowville, spent part of tho last week with his wlfo and children, child-ren, who reside in Garland. Mr. and Mrs. Fred L. Ny,o entertained enter-tained one day last week in compliment compli-ment of some school teachers, who leave soon for their homes. A supper was served lo fifteen guests. nn |
