Elder Alumni association held Us annual banquet at the high . school Saturday evening. Tho tables woro decorated with white narcissus and purple iris In harmony with the school colors of purple and white. K. C Wright acted as toastmaster ami drew responses from tho following: Bervard Nichols, Miss Trossa Pond, F. A. Hinckley, H. W. Valentino and W. ! H. urimths. Covors were laid for 100 alumni members. Following the banquet, ban-quet, dancing was enjoyed in tho gymnasium gym-nasium for the remainder of the evening. even-ing. The Beehive camp of the Daughters of the Pioneers met Thursday afternoon after-noon at tho homo of Mrs. Orson Tin-gey. Tin-gey. Aftor preliminary services a sketch of the pioneers as they entered Salt Lake valley was given by Mrs. Lucy Holton. A piano selection was rendered by Miss Thelma Tlngoy, followed fol-lowed by a sketch of the life of Bishop Henry TIngey by his granddaughter, Mrs. George Johnson. Incidents of Bishop Tingey's life wore, also given by his daughter, Mrs. Lizzie Bingham. Lorln and Harold Tingey sang a duot, "My Mother." Refreshments wero served by Mrs. E. M. Tyson, Mrs. James Tingey, Mrs. Joseph Hadley and Mrs. Orson Tingey. Guests from tho central camp present were Mrs. Lucy Holton and Mrs. Chris Slmmonson. Other guests wore Mrs. Alma Tingey, Mrs. Orson Tingey and Miss Melba Tingey. There were" twenty-four members present. A report of the Presbytorian conference con-ference held at Logan was given uy Mrs. C. E. FowW. Solos were rendered ren-dered by Mrs. O. O. Hart and Mrs. Kirk Martin. Light refreshments wero served by tho hostess, assisted by Mrs. W; II. Child of Ogden. Cherry blossoms blos-soms and pansles were used as decorations. deco-rations. Guests present were Mrs. W. II. Child, Miss Ada Child and Mrs". W. J. Maxwell. About twenty members vero present. The Cheerful club met Thursday afternoon af-ternoon at the home of Mrs. Nels J. Nelson. The tlmo was spent at needlework needle-work and soveral musical soloctlons wero enjoyed. At the close of tho afternoon af-ternoon luncheon was served In the dining room. A largo vaso of bright-colored bright-colored tulips was used as a cen:er-pleco cen:er-pleco for the dining table. Covers were laid for Mrs. Sarah Reese, Mrs. William Soron3on, Mrs. T. Crompton, Mrs. James , Cottam, Mrs. Elizabeth Kaiser, Mrs. P. J. Peterson, Mrs. Ellas i Jensen and Mrs. Alice Knudson. Mrs. George M. Fister entertained at an informal tea Tuesday afternoon at her home on First North. Lavender Laven-der lilacs over a Madeira centerpiece, together with a lavender tea sot adorned the tea table. The guests wore Mrs. R. T- Wllloy, Mrs. C. H. Bryan, Mrs. LeRoy B. Young. Mrs. J. W. Poters and Mrs. Lo Roy Smith. Dr. and Mrs. R. T. Willey entertained enter-tained at dinner Saturday evening in honor of Dr. and Mrs. D. W. Iiender-son. Iiender-son. Lilacs and plum blossoms formed an effective centerpiece for the dining din-ing table. Covers were laid for Dr. and Mrs. D. W. Henderson, Mr.' and Mrs. J. W. Peters, C. O. Roskelly and Dr. and Mrs. R. T. Wllloy. The graduating class of the Box Elder high school held a class program pro-gram Friday evening in the high school assembly hall. Miss Trossa Pond took charge, and the following program was rendered: Class gossip drawn on motion plcturo slides; solo, Allen Mann; one-aot play, "Husbands on Approval," under the direction of Miss Fay Cornwall; saxaphono duot, Watklns Brothers, accompanied by Mlsa Thyra Morgan; fancy dance by "Miss Rhoda Leo: "Last Will and Testament Tes-tament of the "Senior Class," read by Reese Merrill. A largo sized crowd attended the program. Mrs. Elizabeth Kaiser roturncd from Boise, Idaho, Wednesday morning, morn-ing, where she has been spending si couple of months visiting relatives. The Kindergarten club held its last meeting prior to the summer vacation Thursday afternoon at the homo of Mrs. A. L. Stout, During the summer months the club will give a Boclal to which all members and their husbands will be Invited, but the regular business busi-ness meetings will be suspended until Soptember, when the reorganization of tho club will take place. Arrnngements have been, made for the installation1 of new equipment and the planting of moro vines in the playgrounds prldr to their opening, which will be about the second week In June. A trained fiupervloer will be present at that time to take chargo of the playgrounds during tho summer months. Mrs. D. W. Henderson was in charge of tho meeting Thursdny and several important im-portant matters were disposed of. Miss Doris Boothe rendered two vocal solos, and Miss La Verd Watson gave an in- lorcsting book review. Tho house was prettily decorated with peonieB and white lilacs. Guests of the club were: Mrs. H. D. Woffington, Mrs, Eustaue K. Harmon, Mrs. P. ' W. Jarvis, Mrs. W. H. Stay nor and Mrs. James E. Hal-verson. Hal-verson. There were thirty-five members mem-bers present. Mrs. Paul E. Hanson was the guest of honor Thursday evening at a miscellaneous mis-cellaneous shower, given at tho home of her mother, Mrs. W. I. Lewis. Tulips and lilacs wero used as decorations. Tho evening was passed in a social manner, after which a tray luncheon was served. Many beautiful gifts were presented to the honored guest by those present. Besides the young bride; the other guests were,: Messrs and Mesdames, Carl Wilson, Melvin Olson, Mack Robinotto W. I. Lewis and Ezra Coinelison of Bancroft Ida.; Misses Florence Lee, 11a Peterson, Millie Lewis, Lew-is, Elda Lewis, Guenivore Nelson, Mary Steffen, Anna L. Christenson, Ruby Christensen, Luclle Anderson and Arlene Hatch of Ogden. Mrs. Paul Hanson, was formerly Miss ieona jLewis of this city. 4 The Sego Lily cam.p of the Daughters Daugh-ters of the Pioneers met Monday evening eve-ning nt the home of Mrs. Ida K. Lee. A sketch of tho life of Mrs. Mary J. Evans, was read by Mrs. F. A. Vincent. Miss Blythe Evans rendered a solo, followed by a comic reading by Miss Mary Anderson. Remarks were made' by Mrs. Stella Phillips and Miss Em-I mn Evans gave a vocal solo. Mrs. Mary D. Ensign and Miss Emma Stohl also gave a few remarks and President S. Norman Lee sang a solo, accompanied accompan-ied by his daughter, Rhodn. Refreshments Refresh-ments were served by Mrs. Ida K. Lee, Mrs. Eliza Madson and Miss Leona Cuthbert. Spring flowers wero used as decorations. There wore twenty-throe twenty-throe members present and a number of guests. oo |
