Show PLAN BIG TRUCK RELIABILITY RUN First National Contest to Draw Entries From Many States Charles P. Root, general manager of yio First National Motor Truck Reliability contest, has just announc-jed announc-jed that the start of tho, greatest con-j con-j tost ever known in the motor truck field will be June 14. In reaching j this decision Mr. Root took Into consideration con-sideration the probable condition of i the roads in May, due to excessive ' precipitation. Entries will close Saturday, Sat-urday, May -2, at midnight, and cars j will have to be in the hands of the promoters at Omaha not later than Saturday June 5. Mr. Root points to the fact that tho i roads in Juno will bo in their best condition, and that the weather will bo settled. The days will then be longest. Another matter that was considered -was the Republican national convention, conven-tion, opening June S. That event will crowd the newspapers with political news during a time when the white paper situation Is serious. The truck contest would naturally be suborl-Inated suborl-Inated in a news way ,and much of I its value would bo lost to the public, From the date of 'the announced closing of the entries.
