Show SUFFRAGISTS TO HOLD PROTEST WEEK IN MAY: WASHINGTON, May 1 Forty-seven ' women from 47 states will join, on May 3, with the .president of the Con- j necticut Woman Suffrage Association in launching a national protest week in Connecticut. It will bo a consolidated consolida-ted protest of the women of the country coun-try and the men and women of Con- ! necticut against the refusal of Governor Gover-nor Holcomb to call a special session j of the legislature to act on tho federal fede-ral suffrage amendment. 1 Tho protest will cover the week of I May 3-S, and will embody a series of 1 30 or 40 meetings throughout tho slate c which will bo addressed by groups of i the 47 women, who will spend the c week in Connecticut as guests of tho Connecticut Woman Suffrage Associa- 1 Hon. These women will be leaders of g the suffrage movement in their own states. Thirty of them will represent states where women are sure to vote I in 1920, and tho others will represent 9,000,000 women in tho states where the women's vote will depend on ratification rati-fication of tho federal suffrage amend 1 inent. 0 n I |
