Show I ASKS READJUSTMENT ON GASOLINE RATES SALT LAKE, May 3. In an argument argu-ment objecting to I her eport of Special Spec-ial Examiner It. T. Eddy of the interstate inter-state commerce condition, H. W. Prickett. manager of the traffic ser-i(J ser-i(J , vice bureau of Utah, asks for further " readjustment of .rates on gasoline and ' other refined oil. m The report of Special Examiner Eddy involved reasonableness of rates for tho transportation of refined petroleum petro-leum products to Salt Lake and other points from points In California, Wyoming, Wyo-ming, Kansas and Oklahoma. In his general "argument Mr. Prickett maintains that the present relative adjustment in tho rates as between be-tween the heavier and lighter oils precludes pre-cludes the Importation by complainant and other shippers of gasoline to Salt Lake and that, while the Utah refinery does not sell gasoline to the consuming public, that it does sell its entire output out-put of that commodity to its affiliated company, the Continental, which in turn sells It to other Salt Lake jobbers and tho consuming public, and therefore there-fore it gives to the Continental a practical prac-tical monopoly In the sale of gasoiine in Salt Lake. He therefore respectfully respect-fully submits that the commission, under un-der tho lav.', lias no right to perpetuate perpetu-ate a rate adjustment that results in a monopolistic condition. |
