Show PRINCE OF WALES MAKES FRIENDS IN NEW ZEALAND AUCKLAND, N. Z., May 2. The Prince of Wales resumed his tour of New Zealand by train today, to-day, the strike of the railway men having been ended. Thjs afternoon after-noon the prince reached Taumgu-runui, Taumgu-runui, having been welcomed everywhere ev-erywhere with enthusiasm. i An interesting incident connected connect-ed with the strike is related. Prior Pri-or to the settlement of the walkout walk-out the prince was told there would be difficulty in finding men to run the royal train. "Will they run trains for the people7" the prince inquired. "At present they will not," a railroad officiaf replied. "That being so," the prince answered, an-swered, "they cannot run trains for me. I am one of the people." oo ' |
