Show CITY REGEIVES NOTICE IN TOE HANDLING OF MILK The following letter concerning the proper handling of milk by the consumer con-sumer in order to insure the best re suits has been received by the Ogden health department from the dairy division divi-sion of the bureau of animal Industry. Il Is practically Impossible, hov.'ever, for the board of health to supervise the caTe of milk after it reaches the consumer , The housewife must assume responsibility for this. .Many complaints of bad milk bavd Im . ii laid in Ihe door of the producers when housewives themselves were f blame. Some of these were no doubt due to ignorance or carelessness in the handling of the milk after it reached the home. The housew ife should know the value of milk and Its product it food, the source and record of her milk supply, aiidtbe care of milk aft er it reaches the home The board of health should be ablo to intorm her regarding the source and quality ol the product. "The consumer should accept no system of delivery which does not brlnR milk into the home in hollies All other methods Of handling and delivery de-livery are obsolete and represent ignorance ig-norance or carelessness on the part of the dairyman. "There are four general conditions to avoid In handling milk in ihe home: 1. Placing milk in unclean utensils. 1'. Exposing milk unnecessarily to the air. 3. Failure to keep milk cold up to the time of usinc 1 Exposing milk to flies. "Whenever possible milk should be kept in the original container. Keep the bottle of milk in the refrigerator aud remove only for immediate use i nder no circumstances should milk be exposed ex-posed to flies.
