Show ONE MAN IS KILLED IN WRECK OF W. P. SALT LAKE, Nov. 22. E. T. Hill-man, Hill-man, engineer, was instantly killed and Fireman Stenovich of Salt Lake seriously ser-iously injured in a wreck yesterday morning qn the Western Pacific railroad rail-road near Shatter, New, forty-one miles west of Wendover, caused by a rear-end collision between the first ; and second sections of a freight train. According to information from Wendover, Wen-dover, the wreck resulted from alleged j carelessness on the part of the con-J I ductor of the first section of the train in leaving his caboose on the main I lino track at a point a short distance east of the Shatter yards unprotected ; by rear lights. The second section crashed into the rear of the first section sec-tion with tremendous force. Eleven cars were ditched, besides the engine of the second section and a caboose. Westbound passenger train No. 72 was delayed several hours by tho wreck. nn |
