Show BROWNING MADE ROAD ENGINEER SALT LAKE. May 9 The now stato road commission met at tho capitol yesterday afternoon and organized with Governor Bambergor as chair man, Harden Bennion, secretary of stale, vice chairman, and Ira R Browning, secretary. Mr. Browning was named as state road engineer to succeed E. R. Morgan. Mr. Morgan will remain In tho offices for some time at tho request of Mr. Browning, until tho latter can familiarize himself him-self with many of tho details of the position. The members of the now commls slon aro tho governor, the secretary of state, Stato Auditor Joseph Ririe, Attorney At-torney General Dan B. Shields and State Engineer Georgo F. McGonagle The matter of appointing state road agents was discussed by the commission, commis-sion, but action was postponed in or-dor or-dor that tho commission may work in harmony with county commissioners i in tho various counties. H. C. Means and George S Sloan of , Myton appeared before tho commission commis-sion to urge tho selection by the commission com-mission of the Prlce-Myton road into tho Uinta country. After tho discussion discus-sion of tho county wrangle over the cholco of road, It was decided that a committee from the commission will go over the ground next week. Thoso to make tho journey are Secretary of State Harden Bennion, Attorney General Gen-eral Shields, Stato Auditor Ririo and tho stato engineer. Thoy will leave Salt Lake Monday aftornoon, going to Price, and from that point will traverse tra-verse both proposed routes. |
