Show IRISH OFFER TO THE GOVERNMENT LONDON. May 9, 4:35 a m. Tho parliamentary correspondent of tho Daily News says that Joseph Devlin, Nationalist member of parliament from Belfast, on behalf of Irish interests, inter-ests, has offered the government half the public houses in Ireland for 2,000,-000 2,000,-000 pounds. Tho offer would mean tho closing of between 7000 and 8000 establishments estab-lishments and is favorably considered by Chief Secretary Duke, who will consult con-sult tho government. The correspondent says that the administration ad-ministration Is ready to adopt stato purchase of the liquor interests in Ireland, Ire-land, but Is undecided in regard to tho rest of the kingdom.
