Show oo STREET LIGHTING COSTS CITY $2,124 Street lighting during April cost the city $2,124.42. Tho bill was approved at tho city commission's session yesterday yes-terday afternoon. Bids -were received for curbs and gutters on Twenty-fourth street from Harrison to Fillmore avenues; contract con-tract not yet awarded. The Wheelwright Wheel-wright Construction company bid $14,-042,36; $14,-042,36; Gibbons and Reed, $15,182.42. P. J. Morau's contract and bond for paving the Twenty-eighth street district dis-trict were approved. Rooming houso licenses were granted grant-ed to Sarah Malouf, 127 Twenty-fifth; Twenty-fifth; H. Garvos, 115 Twenty-fifth; C H. Hawaguchi, 2422 Grant avenue. The application of Mrs. Nora Cantwell, 2376 1-2 Washington avenuo, was referred re-ferred to tho mayor. Gibbons and Reed were granted an extension of 45 days on tho Madison avenue storm sewer contract, on account ac-count of unfavorable weather in January, Jan-uary, February and March. Tho Salt Lako and Ogden railroad asked permission to use paving blocks on Lincoln avenue, between Twenty-fourth and Twenty-fifth streets, promising to construct Jin adequate ade-quate drain beneath tho tracks.
