Show Action of Hockey Club Spells End of Amateur Hockey League Nw York, Jan. 20 The action of the New York Hockery club in protesting pro-testing four players of the Irish-American Irish-American Athletic club seven has shaken the American Amateur Hockey League almost to pieces. In the opinion of men who have made a study of all the circumstances surrounding sur-rounding the case It spells the end of the league, and there seems to be sufficient foundation for this view. The entire proceeding? seems to revolve around petty hockey politics, and the Hockey club's action seems to be founded on pure Jealously. The suspension of the offending players was made by the Executive commltteo of the association because it l B alleged tnat the four men had failed to clear themselves of charges of professionalism made by certain Canadian players. If the purposes of the league la to clear the game of any taint of professionalism pro-fessionalism and the clearing out process is continued, It will have to be done impartially. If it is done from that standpoint it will wreck the organization, for there are very few members in the league who can qualify. |
