Show PLAGUE STILL GAINS HEADWAY i - Forty-five More Children Dead and 175 New Cases in New York City. New York, Aug. 4. More than 1,000 children now have been killed by the epidemic of infantile paralysis and nearly 5,000 have been stricken by the disease. The health department's dally bulletin shows that the plague' still continus to gain headway. During Dur-ing tho 24 hours ending at 10 a. m. today, forty-five children died of tho diseases In the five boroughs of New York City and 175 new cases, the second sec-ond largest number In a single day, I were reported.
