Show IELECTBIG DEPOT IS j ERECTED III LOGI f i In keeping with its faith in the fu-ture fu-ture development of Cache valley and recognizing the present need of more extensive facilities for the handling of its fast increasing volume of business, busi-ness, the Ogden, Logan & Idaho Rall-waj' Rall-waj' company is erecting a handsome new depot building in Logan, the principal business center between Ogden Og-den and Preston, Idaho. The building, build-ing, when completed, will represent an outlay of approximately $30,000, and will be a splendid addition to Lo-gian's Lo-gian's modern business district. It is located on the southwest corner of Main and First South streets, a short distance south of the present O. L. & I. passenger station. The construction con-struction work Is being done by Dahle fc Eccles, contractors, of 'Logan, under un-der the direction of Architect Leslie S. Hodgson of Ogden. ' The building is of the modern American style that is becoming distinctive, dis-tinctive, particularly In the west, and will be fire-proof. The walls, which are already completed, are of special texture red brick, the product of the Ogden Pressed Brick & Tile company, with, gray stone trimming, and the floors are of concrete, finished with red floor hardener that gives strength and pleasing appearance. Its floor space is 165x103 feet, and this Is divided divid-ed Into two main roomB, one 37x66 feet, for general ofllces, which are to be rented until the business expansion expan-sion of the company requires their use, a paaBenger station proper, the floor dimensions of which are 45x66 feet. Fronting on Main street, the passenger station will include a large waiting room, with three entrances, a I ticket office, with facilities for the sale of tickets both from the interior or the. Main street side of tho waiting wait-ing room, a news, confectionery and cigar stand, a baggage and express room and the general agent's office. - A reinforced concrete marquise, 20x14 feet in dimensions, extends from tho main entrance to the edge of tho sidewalk and the wall construction con-struction Includes a seven-foot brick walncoto, with decorations above. The walls are finished with tiffany glaze and are made additionally atractlvo by ornamental panels. The lavatories are located on tho lower floor with entrances from the waiting room and these are finished with enamel. The stairways throughout through-out the building are of" concrete, marble or enamel, the plans calling for the eliminating of woodwork wherever possible. II is anticipated that the building will bo ready for occupancv by September Sep-tember 1st. rr |
