Southworth opened the fourth inning in-ning for the Portlanders with a single sin-gle and went to third on a double by Howard. At this stage Risberg cut loose with a wild heave to third, allowing al-lowing Southworth to score, and sending send-ing Howard to third. Williams ended Johnson's troubles by singling to center, cen-ter, sending in Howard with the winning win-ning run. The visitors remained hit-less hit-less for the rest of the time.
