Show Brigham City Society BR1GHAM CITY SOCIETY. Brigham City, Sept. 1G. Three marriages of prominent Brigham and Box Elder folks characterized the social so-cial events the past week. Monday evening eve-ning at the home of the bride's mother, moth-er, Miss Grace McMastcr became the wife of Kenneth C. Wright, a member mem-ber of tho high school faculty and one of the most prominent young men in the city. The ceremony was. pronounced pro-nounced by Bishop Brigham Wright of the Fourth ward. Tho bride is very popular and has been connected with the telephone company In this city for quite a number of years. They will make their home here. James Mack Fishburn and Miss Norma Hudson were married Friday eveinng at the home of Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Fishburn, the ceremony being performed by Bishop Thomas H. Blackburn of the Second ward. The bride and groom are among the most, popular of Brigham's younger set. After spending a few days . in Salt Lake and Ogden the newlyweds returned re-turned to this city to make their home. Mayor Israel Hunsaker pf Honcy-ville Honcy-ville and Mrs. Margaret L. Bowen of this city were married early in the ween, aim uojuii luu iui uicu uuuiu m Honeyvillo. Mr, Hunsaker is one of the most prominent men in Box Elder county. Miss Lucille Pett has returned from an extended visit in Ophir, Utah, and was accompanied to Brigham by Mrs. George Edwards and daughter Helen, who will spend a few weeks visiting friends here. Mrs. J. L. James left Saturday morning morn-ing for Watson, Utah, where she will join Mr. James and make their homo in the future. Mrs. James was tendered ten-dered a number of farewell socials by her friends before leavin.v Mrs. Thora Ware and son Harold of Chicago are spending a few days in Brigham visiting Mrs. Ware's father, N. C. Oleson. Friday evening the tabernacle choir gave a social at the homo of Mr. and Mrs. R. T. Willey. Refreshments consisted con-sisted chiefly of watermelons. The, evening was a pleasant social event. LH Mr. and Mrs. Joe Merrell of Black-foot Black-foot are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. John F. Merrell this week. The party motored to Garland. Miss Jennie Huffaker of Tooele spent part of the week in this city vis-iting vis-iting Miss Evalyn Olsen. The wedding of one of Ogdcn's most popular young couples occurred last Wednesday at noon In the Salt Lake temple, when Miss Helene Morrison, daughter of Mrs. C. Poterson, and Abraham B. Stevens, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Stevens, of 25GS Cole's avenue, ave-nue, were joined In the holy bonds of matrimony. Following the. wedding, the happy couple returned to this city where on Thursday evening they were tendered a lovely wedding supper by the bride's mother at her home, 560 Twenty-third street. Only members of the immediate families were present. pres-ent. The dinner was finely appointed. Mr. and Mrs. Stevens will make their home in Ogden where they have many friends. FOR BRIDE OF WEEK. Last Monday evening Mrs. A. E. Stevens entertained in compliment to Miss Helene Morrison, whoso marriage mar-riage to Mr. A. B. Stevens occurred last Wednesday in the temple at Salt Lake City. The affair on Monday was a miscellaneous shower arid was an exceedingly pretty event of the week. The Stevens home on Cole's avenue was prettily decorated with pink and white asters and roses entwined en-twined with smilax. Many lovely gifts were tendered the bride-to-be by the thirty guests who enjoyed the hospitality hospital-ity of Mrs. Stevens. A pleasing feature fea-ture of tho entertainment was the luncheon sened by the hostess. DANCING PARTY TONIIGHT. This evening at the Maids' and Matrons' Ma-trons' club rooms the Misses Lillian Wright and Alberta Wright are entertaining enter-taining at a lovely dancing party in honor of the Misses Rae Wright and Leila Rich and the Messrs. Gene Carr and Clarence Wright whose marriages will be the most noteworthy events of the fall season in Ogden. One hundred and fifty guests have been bidden to the event this evening, which will undoubtedly be most delightful. de-lightful. TO I PAVF FOR CHART. Mrs. B. Miss Ada Wahlen entertatned a few friends in honor of Mrs. Fred Pyle and Mrs. Carl De Lamater. The evening eve-ning was pleasantly spent in games and music, after which dainty refreshments refresh-ments were served. Those present were: Vera Wann, Ada Wahlen. Lillian Banford, Leila Maher, Maud Koons. Betty Hutchins, Mrs Carl De Lamater, Luella Orton, Hazel Moyes, Mrs. Fred Pyle, Hannah Heyman, Lelia and Gertrude Watson. SEWING SOCIETY. The St Joseph's Sewing society will meet next Thursday, September 21 in the church hall with Mrs. J. Bunker as hostess. MORONI OLSEN TO SPEAK. The drama section of the Historical society is holding its first meeting this afternoon with Mrs. Joseph R-MorrelL R-MorrelL Moroni OlKon of the Univer sity of Utah faculty, is giving a history his-tory of the drama and Misses Ortel and Cleone Rich are furnishing the music. ON COAST TRIP. Mr. and Mrs. H. S. Crowther and little daughter, Margaret, leave tomorrow tomor-row on the Overland Limited for San Francisco, where Mr, Crowther will attend to business Interests and Mrs. Crowther will visit with friends and relatives for a few weeks. Mr. and Ela L. Cooper has arrived from Spokane and is at the Beauty Parlors. Mrs. Cooper Is an expert hairdresser. THEATER PARTY. A theater party was given Friday evening in honor of Miss Grace. Montgomery, Mont-gomery, who leaves Sunday for an extended visit to Seattle, Wash., and other coast cities. Following the vaudeville performance, perform-ance, refreshments were served at the Hudson Chocolate Shop. The following follow-ing friends were in the party and presented Miss Montgomery with a beautiful manicuring set: Misses Lillian Lauson, Edith Wadman, Ellen Ryan, Kose Lucas, Margaret Gotch, Cyetla Swensen, Florence Maian, Olga Torkisen, Catherine Montgomery, Eva Rose, Bertha Randa.ll, Malinda Barney, Beryl Huptetler, Gertrude Shafer, Myrtle Barker, Anna May Hunter and Ivy Belnap. TO AND FROM EVANSTON. James Brown, Jr., and family have returned to Evauston following a pleasant visit in Ogden. Miss Edna Burke had as her house guest during the week. C. T. U. TO CELEBRATE. The Women's Christian Temperance Union of Ogden will celebrate their thirty-third anniversary with a banquet ban-quet at the Methodist church parlors on Tuesday, at 7:30. Every member with her husband or some invited guest is expected to be present. It is expected that covers will be laid for between 200 and 300 guests.
