AT Union Pacific train No. 1, the Overland Over-land Limited, held up near Cheyenne last night, reached Ogden at 12 o'clock noon today, but the passengers passen-gers and Pullman employes were reticent re-ticent about discussing tho robbery. Information was secured, however, that the bandit did not enter tho coaches, but confined his attention to the passengors in the observation car, securing about 570 and a gold watch. The authorities were aided In their search by a description furnished by Hector Robitallle, a switchman who saw a man swing aboard the train 200 yards from the Cheyenne station. This description tended to confirm the belief that the robber was the same as the one who held up a Union Pacific Pa-cific train near Green River, February Febru-ary 9. Two women in the observation car at the tlmo ofjlie, robbery were not molested. Cheyenno, Wyo., April '5. A man who gave the name of Joe Daley was being held this afternoon in connection connec-tion with tho robbery of passengers of Union Pacific limited No. 1 last night, near Cheyenne. Officers stated stat-ed that, although they did not be-Hove be-Hove Daley committed the holdup, tlioy were confident ho had more information in-formation than ho had disclosed. Fourteen other suspects arrested up to noon wero released. Officers continuing the search said they had definitely established that tho robber left the train at Corlett Junction. |
