Show GEN. CECIL A. LYON DIES IN TEXAS Sherman, Tex., April 4. General Cecil A- Lyon, Progressive national committeeman, died here tonight after af-ter an illness of several weeks. General Lyon was prpminent for many years in national politics. He was a delegate to the Republican national na-tional conventions in 1896, 1900 and 1904 and In 1904 he Tvas made tho Texas member of the Republican national na-tional committee. This office he held until the formation of the Progressive Progres-sive party in 1912, when he aligned himself with the forceB supported Colonel Theodore Roosovolt, for many years his close friend and became tho national Progressive committeeman from Texas. |
